AGA was formed in May, 1998 at which time Mr. Gerwig was the Project Engineer for the Southern Boulevard/Australian Avenue Interchange, including the five bridges in the project. AGA was contracted to finish the joint project for Palm Beach County Engineering, Florida Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration. We have also provided seawall design and rehabilitation plans for the City of Lake Worth and the Florida Inland Navigational District. We have provided structural building design for Public Safety buildings in Palm Beach County including hurricane hardening plans for existing structures. Our wide range of experienced staff allows us to serve the local, state and federal community.

West Palm Beach, Florida (2011)
AGA provided structural engineering services to convert the treatment process from chlorine to hypochlorite. Included modifications to existing Chlorine Building; a new Metering Pump Building; and new Day Tank Foundation and Secondary Containment. AGA provided structural engineering services from design through construction administration.
Riviera Beach, Florida (2010)
AGA provided structural engineering services from design through construction administration. The project included a 1,260 sq. ft. cast-in-place baffle box structure constructed within the existing RC-4 Canal; including bar screens on the upstream retaining walls and tie-in to the existing 66” diameter RCP downstream. A galvanized steel grating system was provided to restrict unauthorized access and for improved maintenance access to the baffle box.
Royal Palm Beach, Florida (2009)
The Public Safety Building serves the police training center as well as the Villages emergency operations center. The building was designed to withstand a Category 5 Hurricane with a design wind speed of 191 mph.
Lake Worth, Florida (2009)
AGA provided the structural design for the new 8,700 sq. ft. fire station, including two-story administrative/barracks wing and hi-bay apparatus wing. The building was loadbearing masonry with steel beam framing and composite metal deck for the elevated floor.
Grove Street Drainage Study, Design & PermittingPalm Beach County, Florida (2008)
Initially performed drainage study to review outfall options for a 35 acre area, containing a mix of existing residential and commercial properties. AGA is now under contract with Palm Beach County Engineering to design and permit the proposed improvements.
The Bryant Park Seawall ReplacementCity of Lake Worth, Florida (2008)
Funded through a Florida Inland Navigation District grant and permitted through a No Notice General Permit for Sea Wall Repair from the FDEP/ACOE, this project includes evaluation and development of replacement alternatives, permitting and paving and drainage improvements.
Birkdale Nature WalkWellington, Florida (2007)
Preparation of construction documents for approximately 400 LF of elevated walkway plus an elevated observation area, including assistance during bidding and plan review for permitting.
Jog Road from Roebuck to 45th Street BridgesPalm Beach County, Florida (2007)
Bridge over "M" Canal - Design of a 106' wide, AASHTO girder supported reinforced concrete slab bridge. The bridge consists of three 50' spans for an overall bridge length of 150'. The substructure consists of spill through end bents and pile and cap intermediate bents.
Bridge over SWA Canal - Design of a six lane 70' span AASHTO girder supporting a reinforced concrete slab bridge on a horizontal curve with superelevation. The overall width of the bridge is 140'.
Lighthouse Drive Bridge Repair North Palm Beach, Florida (2007)
Designed plan to repair damaged concrete caused by corrosion and boat collisions.
Mangrove Park Boat Ramp and SeawallDelray Beach, Florida (2007)
Design of a boat ramp and seawall for the City of Delray Beach funded by the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND). The project involved replacing the existing seawalls and designing a boat ramp with floating boat dock to add to the park.
North Palm Beach Bridge Repair (Monet Road)North Palm Beach, Florida (2007)
Designed an emergency repair of the undermined approach slab. The approach slab on both ends of the bridge had to be replaced while maintaining one lane of traffic at all times.
Old Boynton Road Bridge Replacement over LWDD E-4 CanalBoynton Beach, Florida (2009)
Designed a three-lane bridge using AASHTO girder supported reinforced concrete deck slab. The bridge has a length of 66'-4" and a width of 60'-4".
Public Safety Building & Civic Campus Parking Royal Palm Beach, Florida (2007)
The project involved the design of parking, drainage and utility extensions to serve a new 8,100 square foot public safety (EOC) building and the replacement and expansion of the existing parking and drainage infrastructure to serve the existing facilities on the Village of Royal Palm Beach Civic site. Total campus area is 16.4 acres. The EOC Building was designed to withstand Category 5 hurricanes with winds up to 191 mph.
Royal Palm Beach Recreation Center Royal Palm Beach, Florida (2007)
Structural engineering design for a new covered entry into the existing recreation center.
Mast Arm Standards Development Palm Beach County, Florida (2006)
Designed standard drawings for Palm Beach County based on the FDOT mast arm standard design procedure. The standards contained detailing data, approved manufacturers and specifications, look-up tables for mast height and arm length configuration, and foundation design details.
North Palm Beach Seawall RepairNorth Palm Beach, Florida (2005)
Designed a replacement for the seawall which failed as a result of Hurricane Wilma. The project included the connection to two existing seawalls at either end and connection to two stormwater outfalls penetrating the seawall.
Lyons Road Bridge over C-51 Canal Palm Beach County, Florida (2003)
Designed this new prestressed concrete slab beam bridge consisting of five 50' spans, with a width of 74'-2" supported on spill through end bents and pile supported intermediate bents.
Lake Ida Road Bridge Palm Beach County, Florida (2001)
Designed the replacement of a two-lane bridge with this new prestressed concrete slab beam bridge consisting of a single 36 feet span, to create a four-lane bridge with turn-lane and median, with an overall width of 94 feet. The construction of the new bridge and the demolition of the existing bridge was phased to maintain two-way traffic throughout construction.
